Feliz Cinco de Mayo: Margarita Edición

Feliz Cinco de Mayo! This is a quick and easy take on a classic margarita. Feel free to alter it to fit your personal preferences. My friend Drew makes the BEST margaritas, so these don’t even hold a candle to his. Hopefully he will guest blog his margarita recipe for us this summer but be warned, his are very, very dangerous (but that’s the point, right? Just kidding don’t drink kiddies. Drugs are bad, mmkay?).  Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful Mexican inspired and booze filled (safe of course) evening. Salud!

Ingredients:

  • ice cubes
  • 3/8 cup tequila
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/8 cup simple syrup
  • 1/8 cup triple sec
  • 1/8 cup raspberry lemonade

Directions:

Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add remaining ingredients. IMG_2230Cover and shake until mixed and chilled, about 30 seconds. Place some type of salt on a plate  (we use the premade Stirrings Margarita Rimmer because we are lazy).

No Han! Didn't you just read? DRUGS ARE BAD MMKAY!

Using a lime wedge, moisten the rim of a glass. Press the rim into the salt mixture. Place a few ice cubes in the glass then strain margarita into the glass. Garnish with a lime slice and enjoy!IMG_2232
