Dark Chocolate M&M CookiesI’m normally not a huge chocolate fan when it comes to baked goods, but I have been on a little kick after making my cream cheese brownies. I was craving cookies and saw a delicious looking recipe on this fantastic blog I follow, foodlikecake. The original recipe can be found here. It was one of our co-worker’s last days with us, so we had arranged a little lab get together with snacks for us to all say our goodbyes. This was a perfect opportunity to try this recipe out and share it with everyone! I made a couple of small tweaks to the original recipe, but kept most things the same. These cookies were awesome, and so delightfully perfect with an ice cold glass of milk. I will definitely be making these again!

Prep Time: 15-20 minutes
Bake Time: 10-12 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark chocolate M&Ms

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix butter, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. IMG_3010Stir until ingredients are well combined. Next, using an electric mixer, beat in the brown sugar.IMG_3011 Then beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. When well combined, beat in the flour, baking powder, and cornstarch.IMG_3012 Fold in the M&Ms and semi-sweet chocolate chips. IMG_3013IMG_3014Roll into balls or just place as dollops on a greased baking sheet. IMG_3015Bake cookies for about 10-12 minutes. Serve with a tall glass of ice cold milk and enjoy!!IMG_3020
